In other news:
We are forming an Education and Entertainment Committee. Once a month Saturday morning video dharma talks followed by a discussion are to be planned along with movie nights at the sangha house. This is in response to your feedback at our annual meeting. Anyone interested in joining this planning committee please email sangha@salidasangha.org. The Mindfulness in the Jail Program was awarded a grant in the amount of $11,935to ensure the sustainability of the program. The funds will be used for training volunteers, adding a Women's Mindfulness Course, purchasing workbooks, and providing stipends for lead teachers. We are very grateful to Chaffee Country Board of Commissioners and the Marijuana Excise Tax Advisory Board for their commitment to the well-being of our community and for awarding these funds to the program. May we all be of benefit from this program. The Thursday morning sit time has been changed to 7:30-8:00 a.m. The sangha website has been updated and expanded thanks to the amazing Kevin Wathen! New classes plus book group, SenGen and more are all there. Check it out: http://www.salidasangha.org/ Sit leaders are needed for February and March. Please sign up at the bottom of our community page: http://www.salidasangha.org/community.html Also discussed at our annual meeting was the need for us to be more welcoming to newcomers and visitors. So we wish to encourage everyone to make it a practice before and after sits to introduce yourself and start a conversation with a friend you don't yet know. THANKS! Our warmest blessings to you all, Your sangha board
