Because we have experienced losses of dear Sangha Members recently here is something to consider.

A Salida Sangha group has been looking at ways to respond to the dying and death of a Sangha member has suggested bringing some education/training seminars toour Sangha.  Since we can’t really do face to face trainings right now here is arelevant offering from the Upaya Institute:

LOVE AND DEATH: Opening the Great Gifts
Donation Requested
Instructor(s): Roshi Joan Halifax, PhD; Frank Ostaseski

Love and death are the great gifts that are given to us; mostly,
they are passed on unopened”
-Rainer Maria Rilke

In Buddhism, the acceptance of death influences not only the experience of dying but the experience of living. The Buddhist view holds life and death to be a continuum. One cannot-as so many Westerners try to do-lead life fully and struggle to keep the inevitable at bay.
This program is special, as it explores the powerful equation of love and death. This whole life is a place where we can make real and right our dedication to awakening, in living and dying, in caring and being cared for, in loving and receiving love. Being completely and vividly present for the rich details of our lives and the lives of others is the means that we use to discover truth. Love and death then are experiences of discovery.
Since the sangha house is closed now the minutes of our monthly board minutes are available to anyone interested by responding to this email with a request.

And now...Our monthly poem from Denny
Wage Peace by Judyth Hill
Wage peace with your breath.
Breathe in firemen and rubble,
breathe out whole buildings and flocks of red wing blackbirds.
Breathe in terrorists
and breathe out sleeping children and freshly mown fields.
Breathe in confusion and breathe out maple trees.
Breathe in the fallen and breathe out lifelong friendships intact.
Wage peace with your listening: hearing sirens, pray loud.
Remember your tools: flower seeds, clothes pins, clean rivers.
Make soup.
Play music, memorize the words for thank you in three languages.
Learn to knit, and make a hat.
Think of chaos as dancing raspberries,
imagine grief
as the outbreath of beauty or the gesture of fish.
Swim for the other side.
Wage peace.
Never has the world seemed so fresh and precious:
Have a cup of tea and rejoice.
Act as if armistice has already arrived.
Celebrate today.

May all beings everywhere be happy and healthy
May all beings everywhere be safe and protected from all harm
May all beings everywhere have all of their physical and emotional needs met
May all beings everywhere have open and loving hearts
May all beings everywhere find peace, ease, love and freedom

We cherish and miss you all!
