Yard Work Day Saturday, July 17th
Beginning at 7:30 a.m. until around 9:00 With all the rain we've had we need to weed and cleanup the yard once again. Thanks to all who have been helping with this all summer! Many hands make light anf swift work of it. It looks like the weather will be pleasantly cool. Please bring gloves and whatever else you think you might need. THANKS!!!! Sangha House Will Be Open Beginning August 1st for Sunday 5 pm and Tuesday noon Sits! Here's the scoop: We are pleased to announce that we will begin meeting again in person at the Sangha house for Sunday evening sits and Tuesday noon sits starting Sunday, August 1, 2021. In the spirit of our practice together and our care for everyone in our community, including extended contacts, we want to avoid transmission of any disease and minimize risk to more vulnerable people as much as possible. We will follow CDC guidelines for both vaccinated and unvaccinated people. Please refer to www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting/sick/prevention.html for the latest guidelines. Face coverings and distancing - in accordance with current CDC guidelines for indoor groups - vaccinated people are not required to wear masks - unvaccinated people should wear masks and maintain 6 feet of distance. Any vaccinated person who wishes to wear a mask is welcome to do so. We are researching ventilation systems, and will provide as much fresh air moving through the space as is possible and practical. We will continue to monitor the local situation and guidelines. We will update our policies if needed upon review. We will attempt to continue to offer an online option for attending these sits as well.We intend for this to be available to community members from outside Salida, or who do not wish to attend in person. There will probably be a learning curve as we navigate this hybrid model and figure out what works best for our community, but we are confident that we can navigate this next chapter together. The Mindful Recovery Group is considering a transition to in-person or hybrid meetings, but is not yet ready to make a shift. For the present, Zoom gatherings will continue because some members cannot attend in person, and the group is determined to be as inclusive as possible.. For details on how the discussion on meeting times and dynamics is evolving, please contact either Leslie Henslee smedlapp@gmail.com) or Denny Radabaugh dcradaba@owu.edu or 740-816-1603). September 18-19 Retreat With Brian Lesage Meadowrock Ranch Riding the Waves of Impermanence The insight into impermanence is a core element on this path to awakening. Change is a simple concept to intellectually understand yet to fully embody an understanding of it in a way that brings freedom and depth to our lives requires the art of skillfully perceiving and opening to change. In this retreat, we will gather together and explore different ways of perceiving and opening to impermanence. The retreat will be held mostly in silence. There will be optional discussion times to discuss the experiential meditative exercises that will be offered throughout the retreat. This retreat is designed for both beginners and experienced practitioners. Registration information will be sent to you next week. The sangha house rent money was donated last month to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Our donation will provide 26 local children with one book every month for one year. Thank you once again for your continuing financial support. We miss you, we love you, we wish you well and we hope to see you soon! Your Salida Sangha Board
