Changing Seasons, Steady Practice with Sangha

"All conditioned things are impermanent."~ Dhammapada - verse 277

The turning of the seasons invites us to notice the beauty of change—the leaves falling, the light shifting, the moments passing. Impermanence is not something to resist, but a reminder to awaken to the preciousness of each moment.

As all things arise and pass away, our practice invites us to meet change with wisdom, kindness, and presence.

Please join us this September for our weekly meditations and special events.

Poetry, the Dharma, & Practice - Fall Session

We are back for the fall!  Join us for Dharma-inspired poetry, quiet reflection, and meaningful conversation. Together we'll read and reflect on thoughtfully selected poems that invite insight, open the heart, and deepen our practice.

Our discussions center on pre-selected poems from a variety of authors and traditions, explored through the lens of Buddhist Dharma.

*This group will resume this fall for three sessions, meeting on a new day and at a new time.

  • Tuesday, September 15th - 1:30 - 3:00pm

  • Tuesday, October 20th - 1:30 - 3:00pm

  • Tuesday, November 17th - 1:30 - 3:00pm

*In-person at the SIMC House at 248 D Street in Salida

If you are new to the group, please email Jackie Mart at least 3-days in advance of the discussion date to receive the poetry.

Come for the poetry, stay for the community, and leave with a nourished heart.

Autumn Clean Up & Volunteer Appreciation

  • Saturday, October 17th

  • 10am to 1:00pm

  • SIMC House at 248 D ST in Salida

Please join us for our fall clean-up and stay for lunch—or simply come for the volunteer appreciation lunch!

Whether you’ve been volunteering with us for years or are new to supporting and stewarding SIMC, this is a wonderful opportunity to come together, prepare the house and grounds for winter, enjoy the company of our incredible sangha, and celebrate the beauty of generosity.

There are many ways to help steward SIMC throughout the year, and this gathering is also a chance to learn more about volunteer opportunities and discover what kinds of tasks might be a good fit for you.

Please register here by October 10 if you plan to stay for lunch, so that we can plan for the number of people that will be eating. Lunch generously donated by Amica's.
