Updated: 4 hours ago

Another Beautiful Retreat with Brian Lesage

Our deepest gratitude to the beautiful sangha that gathered for our Fall Retreat with Brian. A retreat is co-created by everyone, and we are so thankful for your presence, your practice, and your profound generosity. Your offerings of time, service, and financial dāna are what make these precious gatherings possible. The Dharma shared by Brian was as powerful as ever, and the warmth of our shared practice continues to ripple out into the world.

Saturday, November 8th (9am - 3pm)

at the SIMC Sangha House -248 D Street, Salida, CO 81201

Join us for a full day dedicated to mindful practice and reflection. This retreat can be enjoyed on its own as a day of presence, insight, and growth with the Four Foundations, or as a way to deepen your practice by continuing the exploration begun in the 4-week series. In this daylong retreat, we will take the teachings on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness into our meditation practice. We'll explore body, feeling tone, mind states & nature's truths. Through bringing continuity of mindfulness to our practice and daily life activities, we can see with clarity the nature of experience and widen our capacity to meet life skillfully.

The retreat includes instruction, sitting and walking meditation, and a Q & A period. You will have the opportunity to offer Dana or generosity to support the teacher and the continuation of these offerings.

Library News

Giveaway Box

Located in the Northeast corner of the Sangha Library you will find the Giveaway Box. Any item in this box is available for the taking.  You might be wondering, “ Why are we giving away these books?”  In order for a book to be added to the Sangha Library it must meet the following criteria: The book must relate to Buddhist philosophy, practices and teachings. It must be in good condition, free of underlining or highlighting.  And it does not duplicate a title we already have in the library. If a book meets these criteria it is added to the Sangha Library.  If not, it is added to the Giveaway Box. So, don’t forget to check the Giveaway Box from time to time. You may find a few treasures!

New Titles

We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our sangha members. We were able to add these titles because of your impressive book donations.

“I asked the leaf whether it was frightened because it was autumn and the other leaves were falling. The leaf told me, 'No. During the whole spring and summer I was completely alive. I worked hard to help nourish the tree, and now much of me is in the tree. I am not limited by this form. I am also the whole tree, and when I go back to the soil, I will continue to nourish the tree. So I don’t worry at all.'"
