Exploring Inclusivity and Diversity
Friday, September 15th, 2017, 6:30pm
248 D Street Salida, CO
No cost, but offerings of generosity (Dana) for Brian, gratefully accepted.
As a Sangha, our intention is to be inclusive in all ways, within our existing
Sangha and within our larger community. As a way of bringing this intention
more fully into awareness, we have asked Brian Lesage, our guiding teacher, to
lead us all in a discussion about Diversity and Inclusivity. We want all of our
voices included in this exploration, so please join us if you can. If you are not
able to attend, please feel free to email the Sangha in advance at
firstname.lastname@example.org with any input or with specific items you would like to
see included in the discussion. Here is a rough outline that Brian has offered:
• 10 to 15 minutes – Share reflections on Diversity and Inclusion in the
context of our Spiritual Path
• Explain the process of exploring this topic in the context of discussion
• Get into groups of 3 – exploring these questions:
1. How is diversity and inclusion important for you and your spiritual
2. What are the challenges that you see around this arena?
3. What do you see as practical ways of moving forward?
• Group Discussion
Prayer Wheel Donations are still being accepted in a special box in the sangha house kitchen. We encourage everyone to vote on which of the two options they prefer. You can do that quickly and easily with this survey monkey link; https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PrayerWheel
Cultivating Wakefulness in Relationship with Nicola Redfern
Saturday, September 30
9:30-4:30 p.m. at the sangha house, 248 D St.
Join us for a day of Insight Dialogue practice, cultivating mindfulness as we open to the relational aspects of life.
Insight Dialogue expands our solitary meditation practice by extending mindfulness, wisdom and compassion into speaking and listening as we contemplate with others. We will practice relational meditation, pausing out of routine reactions, releasing habitual patterns and meeting the moment of interpersonal contact with a fresh wakefulness. We will interweave periods of silent meditation practice with carefully guided dialogues in pairs or small groups. This daylong retreat is open to both beginners and experienced practitioners.
Further information about the practice of insight dialogue can be found at www.metta.org
The fee for the daylong retreat is $25. We hope that this amount will cover Nicola’s travel expenses. There will also be an opportunity to offer a donation or dana (the Pali word for generosity) in addition to the $25 fee.
To register for this retreat, please email email@example.com

Sangha House Yard: It's almost time to do a fall cleanup and weeding in the sangha house yard. Please come help us on Saturday, October 7th at 9:00! It won't take long if we get some willing volunteers. This is a great way to express your gratitude for our lovely gathering place.
Our deepest blessings to you all,
Your sangha board
